In the end last night we decided to go back to the Peninsular restaurant. We had a pre dinner cocktail and then joined the virtual queue and were called almost immediately. We had agreed to share our table once again. This was the second time we’ve eaten dinner in this restaurant which in the same as the other two included restaurants and which is where we ate last year on Aurora. The first night I had halibut which at best was ordinary - my fault I thought as of course it had to be frozen. It wasn’t bad, just tasteless. Last night I went for something I thought would be safe, steak. It was rare ish but again it was rather tasteless and pretty tough. I’m really surprised. We had such excellent meals last year, these two have born little resemblance. The starters and desserts have been fine and Steve has been happy with his meals. So maybe I’ve been unlucky. We will try again tonight.
Anyway today has been a very relaxing one. We decided to have breakfast on our own (to be honest I couldn’t face another conversation about how many cruises have you been on, with which lines etc etc). Once again the virtual queue was nonexistent and we went straight down to a very nice breakfast (after the obligatory Costas in the cabin).
After breakfast we decided to find loungers and took our kindles for a relaxing read. Steve discovered why everyone puts pegs on their towels 😂.

At 10.30 he went to a talk on watches in the Live Lounge whilst I stayed reading my book and then he kindly bought me another coffee.
We had booked all our excursions before we came away but yesterday we received a note to say that our eco-kayak and snorkel adventure in St Lucia had been cancelled (we found out today that we were the only ones booked on it - seriously! The only ones out of about 3,500!!). So at 1pm there was a talk on St. Lucia which we hoped might give us some ideas but whilst interesting, it didn’t help. So we had some lunch in Horizon and then went to the Shore Excursions desk to try and decide what to do. (Don’t worry we do have shopping, I mean exploring time, in Castries already built in.). The lady there was absolutely fabulous. She chatted to us and looked at what else we’d booked and was able to make some excellent suggestions, so we are all booked up. We also chatted to her about the two excursions we’ve already done and she was really pleased to get our feedback.
I also forgot to mentioned that on our last sea day - in fact our first aboard - I went to a yoga class in the afternoon. It was very good - much better than the classes onboard last year. There they had only been taught how to teach a yoga class, this guy actually knew how to do yoga although he looked as though he was better suited to the rugby pitch or an American football field.
Yoga today was at 8.00 and I decided it was just too early, so I did Pilates at 4pm instead. Again it was very good. And another difference from last year - the gym, which is huge, was absolutely heaving and has been every time we’ve been there. There is also a separate studio for yoga and Pilates classes which also makes a difference. But I say again, as I did last year, try doing a tree pose or Warrior 3 when on a cruise liner. 😂 🧘♀️
We are now chilling in the cabin. It’s a posh night again tonight so we will get all dressed up once more and head out for a drink. There is a pantomime thing around the 12 days of Christmas at 7pm which we shall check out. So we can have a drink whilst we watch that. And then on to Peninsular. 🤞
