Last night we decided to go to The Beach Club for supper. They had a space at 7.30 which was perfect. The food there is nice but the atmosphere is a little bland. It is only part of Horizon buffet that’s turned into the restaurant at night. Steve had goat curry which he loved. After supper we went to the lido bar for a drink. We realised that there are two very distinct groups on the ship - the youngsters who don’t want to dress up but just want to party and the the old farts like us who dress up and go to the quieter places for drinks etc. The lido bar was full of the youngsters 😂. Then off to bed but still not too late.

Today had been a total chill and recovery day. We managed to get the washing done (2 loads) and have a leisurely and extremely nice breakfast in the Oriental Restaurant where it is served rather than self service and the choice is wider and slightly more upmarket.

We then saw Helen in shore experiences once again to rebook after the latest cancellation. We were very disappointed about this one as it was the only rib ride we had booked and we were also due to snorkel with turtles. She said it wasn’t common but was a Christmas thing. Normally people came as much for the excursions as the cruise but at Christmas they were less interested in the excursions. Anyway we have decided to do our own thing tomorrow and do a free walk of Curacao but will do a trip in Barbados instead.

After that a coffee and then I spent most of the day on lounger in the shade and Steve went back to the cabin. A light lunch on Horizon and then back to our books in our chosen locations. I went to yoga at 4pm and Steve spent a little time on the treadmill. Then I went back to the pool and read and Steve joined me for a while. We faffed about dinner but in the end decided on the Glass House which was tapas based with taster wines. The tapas was good, not lpa standard but the squid croquettes were a very pleasant surprise. There weren’t that many tapas in the end so we shared a food from the sea plate which was extremely nice.

Then afterwards we went to the Lido bar to listen to a Stevie Nicks tribute. She was brilliant but the location was a bit too noisy to enjoy it completely.

Then off to bed!
