Day 11

Part 1

Dinner last night was in Sindhu. Fabulous!  Steve had bread crusted haddock and I had scallops. Then Steve had red mullet, sea bass and cod which was outstanding and I had a chicken korma which was also wonderful. Plenty of side dishes including rice, tarka dhal and aubergine. Really lovely.  No dessert and off to the Crows Neat for a sherry and red port.   We had wanted to go to one of the shows but it was at 9.15 and we were still eating, hence the decision to go to the Crows Nest. Sadly we got it wrong AGAIN and had to go outside which was freezing and the water in the swimming pool was spraying wildly over the sides. I thought the fact we couldn’t walk in straight line was due to the wine we’d had but a) we hadn’t had much and b) no the ship is “wobbling” again and pretty wildly if the pool is anything to go by.

The Crows Neat is lovely. It is, as you would expect, right at the top and the very front of the ship. So the view is splendid.  So a nichave a drink after dinner.

As we had an early start today so we had an early night with broad daylight at 10.00 but no sun.

We woke up as we came into Akureyri and then breakfast in the Horizon. We bumped into Donna and John and they told us that the last couple who hadn’t sat at our table so far, joined them last night and oh my goodness!  Donna and John really wished we had been there. They are South African and whilst she is lovely (according to Donna), he was a nightmare - extremely rude and racist. They couldn’t believe some of the things he said. I do hope they are there again tonight 🤪.

Anyway back to today. Our trip is one organised through P&O and is the Jewels of the North and Myvatn Nature Baths which starts in 20 mins at 8.30 so is better go. But we don’t get back until we sail at 4.30’this afternoon and then we have two days at sea and there might not be time to write up today’s trip before we leave.  We will have no internet at sea. So we might post this bit so far because there will be nothing for 3 days now. Let’s see.
